Restylane

What is Restylane?

Restylane Injections Cambridge

The Restylane range of products can be used for smoothing out wrinkles and folds, lip enhancement, shaping facial contours and for skin revitalisation.

The Restylane product portfolio comprises a range of products for facial aesthetic enhancement, designed specifically to reduce lines, smoothing out folds and wrinkles, for shaping facial contours to create volume, and to revitalise the skin.

Restylane products consist of stabilized non-animal hyaluronic acid, resulting in an injectable treatment that is similar to the body’s own hyaluronic acid minimising the risk of inflammation and hypersensitivity.

After over a decade of clinical use, over 17 million treatments worldwide with continuous research and safety as top priority, Restylane has been proven to be safe, effective and long-lasting. Q-Med, a Galderma Division continues to invest in a research and development program, in the interest of improving further patient safety and new product development.

How is Restylane manufactured?

The hyaluronic acid in Restylane Fillers and Skinboosters is obtained biotechnologically, using bacterial fermentation. A specific type of bacteria is used because of its ability to produce a high yield of HA.

The HA is then purified and subjected to minimal chemical modification (stabilization is less than 1%) to create a long-lasting, biocompatible gel network that closely resembles the body’s own hyaluronic acid – minimising the possibility of hypersensitive reactions.

The patented technology behind Restylane is unique and should not be confused with other manufacturing processes resulting in highly cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

Which Restylane products are recommended for the treatment of the lips?

Restylane Injections Cambridge

Restylane Lip Refresh & Restylane Lip Volume are recommended for the enhancement of lips. Both contain 0.3% lidocaine for a more comfortable treatment experience.

Restylane Lip Refresh is specifically designed to restore hydrobalance and revitalise the lip and lip hydration, without the need for a great change in volume and should be administered in one treatment session, with follow up at approximately 6 months

Restylane Lip Volume is specifically designed to assist in creating volume in the body of the lip and as well as in the contours and the vermillion area.

What is the difference between the Restylane Skinboosters?

Restylane Skinboosters (Restylane Vital Light, Restylane Vital, Restylane Lip Refresh) are skin revitalisation products. Each product is based on stabilized hyaluronic acid, ensuring a long-term effect.

Restylane Vital efficiently revitalises mature and photodamaged skin where it gives a profound, long-lasting effect. The product contains 20 mg/ml stabilized hyaluronic acid (with or without 0.3% lidocaine included) and should be administered in a treatment cycle of three sessions 4 weeks apart, to be repeated after 6 months.

Restylane Vital Light is a smoother, softer and more fluid gel designed for younger skin which requires a lighter treatment with a refreshing effect. It can also be used to revitalise thin and delicate skin, such as the neck, décolletage and backs of hands. The product contains 12 mg/ml stabilized hyaluronic acid (with or without 0.3% lidocaine included) and should be administered in a treatment cycle of three sessions 2-4 weeks apart, to be repeated after 4-6 months.

Restylane Lip Refresh restores the hydobalance of the lip without volume.prefect for younger lips or mature lips that are dry.
