Award-winning clinic in Cambridgeshire
Dr Caroline Cooper.
The sexual health services at Cosmex Clinic will be led by Dr Caroline Cooper. Caroline is a highly qualified women’s health specialist and Fellow of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FFSRH).
She is a key opinion leader in women’s health, regularly giving lectures at national meetings, and comments in national women’s magazines and on the radio.
She is a founding member of the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum who campaign nationally on women’s health issues. They provide educational webinars and information resources for doctors and nurses and for patients.
Caroline has a holistic approach to women’s reproductive health throughout their life-course, considering the links with lifestyle and overall wellbeing. She works in partnership with women providing individualised care to help to empower them to make decisions about their health.
At Cosmex she will be providing the following services:
Contraception - helping you choose the right method for you
Fitting and removal of copper and hormonal coils (Mirena)
Fitting and removal of contraceptive implants
Advice and management of periods and other hormonal issues
Adolescent gynaecology
Post-natal health
Menopause and perimenopause care
Sexual health throughout the life course

Experience
- Caroline was a GP for 17 years, having gained membership of the Royal College of General Practice (MRCGP). She championed women’s health and completed an MSc in Community Gynaecology.
- Community gynaecology clinic seeing women referred from general practice with menstrual, hormonal, contraceptive and fertility issues.
- Lime Tree Clinic providing NHS contraception and sexual health care in Cambridge for 14 years. She treated patients with a wide range of sexual health issues, and provided a contraception referral service from GPs for complex cases.
- Nationally recognised trainer in sexual and reproductive health, fitting coils and implants. She is the director of the Intrauterine device training programme run by Bayer pharma. Over the years she has trained many of the GPs in Cambridgeshire!
