If it were simple we would all be the perfect weight, toned and fit but life gets in the way. Not to mention the fact that a considerable number of people do not really enjoy exercise that much. However, it is probably fair to say that we would all like to be, “ the best version of ourselves” if only it wasn’t so difficult to achieve and then maintain.
Getting fit and in shape takes a lot of effort and we can easily and relatively quickly lose what we worked so hard to gain. We all know what we should be doing but maintaining that effort when life constantly gets in the way can be tough.

An analogy is to achieving and maintaining fitness is like going for a bike ride in hill country. The uphill parts are hard work and seem to go on far too long.
When we reach the top we can joyfully freewheel down the other side but this finishes far too soon and we are back into the grind of pedalling uphill again.
