This is a very relaxing treatment to gently nourish your skin. The treatment tip is warmed by the ultrasound and other than the warmth you just feel the smooth tip gliding over your skin.

If you simply ingest vitamin C as part of your diet very little of it reaches your skin where it acts as a powerful antioxidant to mop up free radicals generated by exposure to UV light.  These free radicals are now known to damage the DNA of our skin far quicker than previously thought.   The results of DNA damage are loss of collagen, resulting skin laxity and wrinkles, premature age spots and in the worst case skin cancer.

Using ultrasound meizo-therapy ensures stronger protection that also penetrates deeper into the skin.

There are different formulations of hyaluronic acid and no the larger molecule cross linked versions that last months cannot be delivered this way.  However there is a class of formulations that result in much shorter molecules.  These can be delivered using ultrasound and can make you skin feel amazing for up to 72 hours.

These are especially beneficial in the winter months where the cold and wind tends to dry the skin.

It is unlikely that any lasting harm can result but if molecules that are large ( e.g. Glycerine) are pushed through the epidermis using the ultrasound, the patient’s skin can appear bright red.  This effect is transitory and will typically return to normal within around 30 minutes.  However, Cosmex Clinic only uses approved products in order to avoid this effect.

Even larger molecules will simply sit on the skin surface and go nowhere.
