LED light therapy has been clinically shown to be helpful for treating a wide range of indications including acne, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea, in addition to skin rejuvenation, accelerated wound healing and the reduction of inflammation and pain.
DermaDeep LED light therapy can be used in combination with facials and peels to treat acne, reduce wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin. It is excellent as a skin calming treatment after injectable or laser treatments and when used for skin conditions it can reduce the need for topical treatments such as steroids.
How does red and infrared light work?
Within each of our cells there are smaller cells called mitochondria. These are responsible for providing the main cell energy supply of ATP. The activity of the mitochondria fades with age which affects the healthy cell function and the ability of the cell to repair and rejuvenate. Exposing cells to a therapeutic level of red light have been shown to increase the ability of the cell to repair itself by as much as 70%. The addition of infrared enables this effect to also penetrate deeper into the tissue.

How does blue light work?
P. acnes bacteria are very different to the cells in our body and respond very differently to blue light at 415nm. This is a pure blue light, it has no UV component and causes no harm to human skin cells. However, in the acne bacteria it reacts with the bacteria to produce singlet oxygen within, which is very effective at killing the bacteria.
